The Department of Anthropology at Temple University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Anthropology of Visual Communication and Sociocultural Anthropology at the assistant professor level, beginning Fall 2012. We seek a colleague whose research and teaching specializations will complement (rather than duplicate) those of current faculty members. We are particularly interested in scholars who work in Native America, Africa, the Middle East, East Asia, Southeast Asia, or Europe. Applicants should have expertise in visual communication, video production, and new media/new communications technologies. The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in his/her areas of specialization as well as the history of anthropology and contemporary anthropological theory.
